Some concerned delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asante Akyem North (Agogo) Constituency in the Ashanti Region have rejected an album said to have been put up for the forthcoming June 20th, 2020 primaries.
According to the group, the album as they had seen it, was in favour of the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi.
The group claims that the names of 145 polling station executives have been deleted from the member album and replaced them with family and friends and people who do not reside within the constituency among other allegations.
At a press conference in Agogo, the leader of the about 100 delegates, Mr Thompson Dwamena, the electoral area coordinator at Agogo Schoolmu told journalists that the group are pleading with party leaders to act with a matter of urgency or members of the group would not sit to watch aliens take over the constituency come this Saturday primaries.
The group said to avoid any confusion, the original album which was used to elect the incumbent MP, should be maintained.
He said the youth and members of the party would rise up against such alleged machinations, unfairness and “thievery.”
“We further send strong notice that we will advise ourselves and take the next line of action should the party leadership fail to address our concerns and do the proper thing,” Mr Thompson Dwamena.
