Samsung Ghana has donated 500 smart phones and several sim cards to the Government of Ghana to fight the covid – 19 pandemic for contact tracing and effective communication. This was at a briefing at MOI conference room.
On their part, MTN Ghana also donated 500 sim cards with a thousand gigabyte data for 6 months to the Government. MTN Foundation is supporting Government again with Five Million Ghana cedis (5,000,000.00) worth of medical supplies. They said this will enhance Ghanaians at home and students during this time of pandemic outbreak.
Both companies praised the Government for it’s ability to fight the disease and urged Ghanaians to abide by the laid protocols to defeat the disease. According to them they are prepared to support the Government in this difficult time.
The Chief Director of MOI Mrs. Andrews received the items on behalf of the Government. She thanked the two companies and urged others to emulate this handsome gesture.
Earlier in the day, the Director of Ghana Health Service Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye gave the statistical account of the pandemic as at 29th June, 2020. He expressed his dissatisfaction at the ongoing voter’s registration where people are not obeying the protocols and the danger ahead.
