The National Nasara Coordinator of the ruling New Patriotic Party has wished all farmers and fishermen well on the National Farmers Day.

He also advised the youth to stay out of trouble as they celebrate this day.

Below is the full statement

I write to wish our gallant and hardworking farmers/fishermen of our country well on this special day.

As a young man who was born and bred in farming communities, I know without any equivocation that the activities of farming is not an easy task.

Our fathers, mothers, siblings etc go through a herculean task to get us all the foods that we put on our tables daily.

There is no denying the fact that ‘he who brings food, brings life.’ Our farmers/fisher folks have continued to give us life as a country since time immemorial and they still remain very relevant to us as a country.

Fortunately, Ghana has gotten to the time where the farmer/fisherman is enjoying the fruit of his/her labour.

The cocoa farmers pension scheme, the one district, one warehouse project, the planting for food and jobs, the one district, one factory and several other farmer friendly policies are plans put in place by the Akufo-Addo government to make life easy for the farmer.

It is for this reason why I wish the farmer will take advantage of the situation to better their lives under this visionary Akufo-Addo government.

I wish all farmers of Ghana well on this special day and I say a very happy farmers/fishermen day to all Ghanaians.

To the youth, as today marks an important holiday in the life of our country, let us have fun but also let us remember to have fun in moderation and stay out of trouble.
