The Ghanaian Diaspora in Denmark and Sweden has made a financial donation of 8,272 Euros to Covid-19 fund instituted by the Akufo-Addo led government.
The donation which forms part their widows mite contributions by the diaspora community is to supplement government’s efforts in fighting the pandemic.
The donation was made by the Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark

The Deputy foreign Affairsffairs Minister Honourable Mohammed Habibu Tijani receiving the donation on behalf of the sector expressed his gratitude to the association for such gesture.
He indicated that government measures such as COVID -19 alleviation fund and others are stimulating economic growth and improving healthcare facilities and safeguarding the livelihood of Ghanaians.
“The formulation of the Ghana COVID-19 Alleviation and Revitalisation of Enterprises Support (CARES) Programme, has seen the increase in funding to millions of Ghanaians in the micro, small, and medium-size enterprises sector.
Moreover, a Guarantee Scheme of up to GH¢2.0 billion to enable businesses to borrow from banks at more affordable rates and at longer tenor has been instituted. Agenda 111: which is focusing on the construction of a 100-bed hospital in 88 districts in Ghana is another indicator of Government’s relentless efforts at enhancing healthcare in Ghana and ultimately cushion the country’s health sector from future global-scale infections” he said.
