Fake cop nabbed in Koforidua, security accoutrements retrieved

Eastern Regional Police Command has upon a tip-off arrested suspect Prince Baah, 25 yrs, who was impersonating as a policeman from Kumasi but lives at Koforidua.

He was seen wearing a police uniform in Koforidua town.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, a search conducted in the room of the suspect at Koforidua -Okorase revealed three sets of Ghana police uniforms, one set of camouflage, a set of black uniform, a blue-black Police uniform with Lang yang, a blue-black beret with police crest, name tag bearing No. 50721 Prince Baah, a pair of long black boots, a bayonet, specimen charged sheet book, police belt with ammunition porch containing two body spray which looks like pepper spray and a taser as well as police flashlight.

During interrogation, the suspect told police that he got the uniforms from a policeman at Kumasi and Effiduase but bought the other accoutrements at Asawase in Kumasi.

The exhibits have been retained whilst the suspect is detained for further investigations to aid the arrest of possible accomplices.
