DCE Threatens to arrest road safety Ambassador

The District Chief Executive of Akyemansa District of the Eastern Region, Hon. Paul Asamoah has stop the Road Safety Ambassador, Gabby Adu Gyamfi from his workshop at Akyem Ofoase and threatened to arrest him if he does not leave the District.

Gabby Adu Gyamfi the national road safety ambassador as part of his nationwide tour in collaboration with the Drivers & Vehicle License Authority  (DVLA), Ghana Police MTTD and Ministry of Transport to organise road safety workshops in various district capitals for motor riders in other to help reduce motor accident on our roads.

To this effect, the ambassador with his team as subject to their project schedule carried their education to Akyem Ofoase in the Akyemansa District in the Eastern Region of Ghana where they were halted from the exercise by the DCE of the district.

Speaking with the Road Safety Ambassador, Gabby Adu Gyamfi said he has the support of the government for this workshop to issue licence to all unlicensed riders in the country so if the DCE has threatened to arrest him he leave it to the authorities.

Morever, some unlicensed rider in the Akyemansa District including a fifteen year old rider said they have realised the need to be trained and given license at their comfort of their district and that they  do not agree with the DCE because they finds it difficult to get the licence so if it has come their door step they should be permitted to do the licence.

However, the National Road Safety Commission has taken over the matter as they have pledged their commitment to resettle the issue.
