With the New Patriotic Party’s external branches election of executives looming, one candidate that has sprang up and wanting to lead as the party’s secretary in the United Kingdom (UK) is Peter Antwi Boasiako.
The Aspiring Secretary of the UK branch of the party in the following write outlines his vision for the party when elected:
To me, my aim has always been, and would continually be, to make the NPP-UK grow stronger as the strategic backbone and a strong force to reckon with, in suppprt of our mother party in Ghana.
The NPP-UK is a premium strategic Branch for our party and must continually increase in strength, in numbers and in strategies to keep the NPP gov’t in power for a longer period, to rebuild Ghana from the mess that the NDC party has always left Ghana in.
Never once should our fortitude waver as strategic Branch even in times of adversity or difficulties that maybe facing our party in power or outside power, no matter how the going becomes tough. .
Even when the going becomes tough for our party either in power or outside power, in whichever circumstances, the NPP-UK Branch must be a source of dependable hope for our party in Ghana and everywhere, just as it has demonstrated often times.
We once authoritatively said ‘No-Nana, No-Vote’ in 2013, and indeed that call resonated across the world and became the household language for friends, sympathisers, political admirers and people who believe that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s leadership will be the best to project Ghana into prosperity through development, embedded in freedom. That call gave Akufo-Addo over 94% votes in the NPP Presidential Primaries, and today, it is our greatest joy that the man Akufo-Addo is the President of our dear country, Ghana, as the majority of Ghanaians earnestly wanted.
We must shun the preachers of divisiveness and apostles of segregation, especially those hiding behind divide-and-rule tactics in their campaign so as to obtain some kind of ‘block votes’ to the detriment of the uniqueness of our Branch party. A political party is not built on divide-and-conquer but on consensus. The party draws its strength from the oneness of purpose in unity and in United front.
As the advice has always gone for the latter-day saints, that for a political party to winn power is not just an one-day event. It takes a long unflinching arduous work done to shore up the party in considerable years to position the party and its leader in the light of trust and confidence, make the party more attractive and vibrant, seen as ready to win power and to govern with excellence with its well articulated policies and programs. That is how Nana Akufo-Addo was propped up by those who believe in him!! That is how the NPP won power!! And that is how we won power!! We must be guided by this knowledge even as we select new leaders to mine affairs of the Branch party. Let’s be bold and shun those who seek to win executive positions through division and disunity, so as to serve their parochial self-centred political interest. Any one elected based on such prevailing dispositions will not urgur well for the future of this August Branch party.
I say Hope, Coming With Excellence, With Full Commitment To Restore….!!
The Man With The Masterplan!
Peter Antwi Boasiako.
