Western North: BIBIANI MCE EMBARKS ON A WORKING TOUR

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly in the Western North Region, Hon. Alfred Amoah has embarked on a day working visit to Baakokrom, a village near sefwi Bekwai, within his jurisdiction to interact with the constituents on government policies and programmes.

The visit would also assist him to ascertain various challenges facing the chiefs and the people in the community.

Hon. Amoah, was accompanied by the Constituency Chairman for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Franklin Appiah-Kumi, Bright Appiah Sarkodie, Research and Elections Officer for Western North Region, the Assembly member and several others.

The (MCE), in his welcome address, praised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led administration for prudent policies and introduction of the numerous flagship programmes and intervention geared towards creating jobs and improving livelihood of the citizenly such as Free SHS, livelihood empowerment against poverty (LEAD), planting for food and jobs programme (PfF&J), Nations builder’s corps (NABCO), planting for food and export and rural development (PERD), One district, one factory (1D1F) initiative, one million dollar per each Constituency, One District One ware house, one village one dam, restored teacher and nurses trainee allowances and others.

The initiative, he said, would go a long way to transform the Ghanaian economy and alleviate poverty.

He also used the opportunity to highlight on series of projects undertaken in the area which includes reshaping of feeder roads, construction of classroom block, CHPS compound, ongoing lecture halls and administration block for Bibiani health college, construction of footbridges, financial support to brilliant students but needy, supply of medical equipment to Bibiani government hospital, scholarship package for ten students to study medicine in Cuba under the government scholarship program among others.

The MCE reiterated the need for the people to give the ruling government more years to help develop the country.

On his part, the chief of Sefwi Baakokrom Nana Kwadwo Gyeapong II, commended the government and the MCE for their tremendous performance within their short period in power.

He therefore, appealed to the Municipal Chief Executive to construct speed ramps to save pedestrians from any accident and also fix their various roads to lessen transportation problems in the area.
