Majority leader in parliament, and minister designate for parliamentary affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu says leadership of Parliament will meet Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for Bawku Central on Tuesday to formally probe him on his bribery claims against the Energy minister, Mr. Boakye Agyarko.
Speaking to Kessbenfm.com on phone, he said “I don’t want to make a comment on the issue because we are yet to meet Ayariga formally to discuss it. The burden of proof lies with him; if it happens that he lied, we’ll give him the opportunity to apologize and if He refuses to do so, we’ll finally hand him over to the privileges committee”
The Minority caucus on the Appointments Committee of Parliament accused Energy minister-designate Boakye Agyarko of attempting to bribe them, to clear him, following his edgy vetting.
According to a member of the minority, Mahama Ayariga, the chairman of the committee handed them some monies and claimed it was coming from the minister nominee, but they rejected it.
