VIOLENCE ERUPTS AT “USAG” POLLS

The ongoing 16th Annual Congress of the University Students Association of Ghana (USAG) to elect its executives at the campus of Kessben University College in Ashanti region has been truncated following a sudden eruption of violence among delegates.

The elections slated to take off at about 9: 00 am on Saturday, saw no sign of commencement as at 4: 00 in the evening. Several delegates from all over the country representing various universities in Ghana converged on Thursday to participate in various activities ahead of the elections .

The misunderstanding intensified when one presidential aspirant, Malik was announced to be evicted from the contest. Police personnel especially from Asokwa division are available to calm the situation

Several anonymous bodyguards (Machomen) were spotted at the scene of elections whose mission are yet to be disclosed. The general elections have seen an indefinite postponement until the executives define another period for the elections.
