Video: NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Aspirant Christmas message to Ghanaians

Background: Christmas is both a sacred religious holiday and a worldwide cultural and commercial phenomenon. For two millennia, people around the world have been observing it with traditions and practices that are both religious and secular in nature and hence the significance of Christmas is known to men, all over the world. Though it is true that Christmas is celebrated as the day of the Birth of Jesus of Nazareth (Jesus Christ) into this world, yet it also symbolizes a very deeply significant truth of the spiritual life. Jesus Christ is the very embodiment of divinity. He was born at a time when ignorance, superstition, greed, hatred and hypocrisy prevailed upon the land. Purity was forgotten and morality was neglected.

It is from this backdrop that the Aspiring Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party chairman Mr Asare-Bediako has called on Ghanaians to reflect about the birth of Jesus Christ and use the occasion to go to church and pray instead of visiting bars for drinks.

Mr Asare-Bediako who has served the party as chairman for Asokwa Constituency for the past 24years will be contesting incumbent chairman Wontumi for the regional seat.

The Aspiring chairman used the opportunity to thank Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and wished His Majesty well and also tasked NPP members and Ghanaians to use the occasion of Christ birth which is globally celebrated as Christmas to pray and shun drinking during this festive period.
