The Omanhene of the Techiman traditional area Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw iv and the entire Techiman traditional area over the week end brought to an end the month long celebration of this year’s Apoo festival in Techiman the capital of the paramountcy.
The theme for this year’s Apoo festival was promoting a culture of unity and tolerance, a key to stability and development and the the royal guest of honour was the Omanhene of the Suma traditional area Odeneho Dr Afram Brempong III.
Apoo festival serves as a safe period for the people to come out openly to reject the things that they have harboured in their hearts ‘chest’ which they are not happy about. Some of these things might be hidden wrong doings of some people especially those in authorities which no one dared to talk about. These are done through songs and proverbs. Where the authorities deserve praises too they are mentioned. Those leaders whose names come out repeatedly for engaging in certain wrong doings tend to change their attitude there after a better life.
Members of Parliament for Techiman North and South Hon Martin Oti Gyarko MP for Techiman North and Hon Yiadom Boakye MP for Techiman South were there to celebrate the momentous occasion with the Chiefs and people of the Techiman traditional area.
They assured the people of Techiman of developmental projects which will soon come to improve their living standards.
