Veteran Ghanaian Highlife artiste, Awurama Badu has died, a family source has confirmed.
The 83-year-old who had been ill for some time died at the Effiduase Government Hospital in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region, Thursday night, the source said.
Awurama Badu is noted for her inspiring and educative songs.
She was in 2016 honoured by Values for Life, a non-profit organization founded by actress and former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dzifa Abla Gomashie at an event dubbed ‘A Night With Female Legends’ to celebrate and honour some of the biggest names in Ghana’s creative art industry.
The popular musician made the hit with songs such as “Komkom”, “Medofo adaada me”,Obaatan refre ne mma and “Emelia”.
