UER – NPP Youth Wing Mourns With Families Of Gbane Mining Accident Victims

The Upper East Regional Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) wishes to extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the sixteen (16) gallant young men (miners) who lost their lives in a mining pit at the Gbane mining area due to smoke inhalation.

It is our prayer that God give them the fortitude to bear the great losses in this trying time and may the departed souls rest well in the bosom of our Creator.

It was earthshaking and shocking, receiving the news of another accident from the site. Whether legal or illegal mining, human life is preciously priceless and must not be lost in this manner. We share in the grief and loss of the families of the victims.
Meanwhile, we also wish the many others who are on admission, receiving treatment at some health facilities in the region, speedy recovery.

We wish to call on the Minerals Commission, the security and all other stakeholders involved to duly investigate and take measures to prevent future occurrences of such a tragedy. While we make this call, we once again extend our condolences to the families of our departed brothers.

Regional Youth Organiser.
