The Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has urged the newly- constituted governing council of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) to ensure that the university reflects the aspirations of the country through its strength in the diversity of its people.
Dr. Prempeh made these remarks when he the inauguration of the 15-member council on behalf of the President at the Ministry of Education. He thanked the council, which is chaired by Prof. George Kankam, for accepting to serve the country in that capacity.
“We are one people, no matter our differences and our challenges…you must be fair to all and competence must be your watchword in all your dealings…UENR is a national university and not a regional or ethnic university’, the Minister charged the council.
Prof. Kankam expressed his council’s appreciation of the honour done them and gave the assurance to the Minister they would do their best to ensure the proper and smooth governance of the university
