The University College of Management Studies a tertiary institution established in 1974 as institute of management studies which was primarily a tutorial college offering professional programmes for students and known simply as UCOMS has two campuses Kumasi and Accra respectively.
The school in midweek started a programme dubbed study abroad seminar with the aim of giving students and academics the need of adding foreign qualifications to that of the local qualifications which gives one an extra competitive advantage in the job market.
The programme which is currently ongoing on both campuses is as way of giving students an extra incentive and prospective ones who want to choose UCOMS as an institution to pursue higher academic qualification.
The seminar which was moderated by Bradford trained Finance expert Mr Ernest A Mensah who also doubles as the Head Of Department for Accounting and Finance for UCOMS Kumasi campus told the students to take their studies seriously and also take advantage of scholarship opportunities abroad and add to their local degrees which will give them the extra edge in the job search.
He however called on Ghanaians and Africans in general who want to choose a tertiary institution in upgrading their knowledge and equipping them for the job market to choose UCOMS or visit www.ucoms.edu.gh for details.
The school which was recently adjudged as the best procurement institution in Ghana is a privately owned Ghanaian institution with Dr Sazrar Opata as Director of the school who saw the need to contribute to the educational needs of the country Ghana by establishing the school.
