Ghana Premier League new boys Bolga All Stars will be the most travelled team when the top-flight league kickoff on February 4, 2017
The “Stars of the East” will begin their debut season with 1524 Kilometers trip to Cape Coast to face Ebusua Dwarfs on the opening day of the season, before making same journey back home to host defending champions, Wa All Stars at our adopted home grounds — Tamale Utrecht Academy Park(Pending the PLB approval) in the Upper Regional Derby a week later.
Bolga All Stars will make an 8 hour trip (460km) to Dormaa in week three to play last season runner-up Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.
The team will then welcome Accra Great Olympics in match day four at home that will be followed by another marathon trip to Tema to engage Tema Youth in week five. The 1,580 kilometers in and out journey from Bolgatanga to Tema will be followed by a trickery home tie against Kumasi Asante Kotoko in week six.
Bolga All Stars will make their shortest trip in the first half of the season when they trek to Berekum to face Chelsea, a seven hour (452km) journey.
The return from the Brong Ahafo Region will see us host MTN FA Cup champions Bechem United.
The Bolga-based side after squaring it off against Bechem United will make another long-winded journey to Obuasi in the Asanti Region for week 9 matchday.
The over 1,000 kilometers journey from Bolga to Obuasi means the team would have covered over 5126 kilometers in just their first five away matches of the season. The Distance is good enough to take you to Belgium or South Africa and back by air.
Week ten and eleven will see us take a little rest with no trip as both games will be home matches against fellow newbies Elmina Sharks and Liberty Professionals respectively.
However week 12 will see them trek to Sogakope in another long journey to meet WAFA. A journey that will see them covered a distance of 1,100 kilometers from Bolga to Sogakope and back.
The Premier League first timers will take on 20 Ghana Premier League Champions Accra Hearts of Oak in their penultimate home fixtures before their travelling contingent make their last travels of the first round of the season to Nation’s Capital to take on Inter Allies in yet another energy exhausting trip.
Bolga All Stars will conclude their maiden first round top flight football nationwide tour with the visit of Medeama SC to the Tamale Utrecht Park for week 15 match day.
In all, Bolga All Stars will make a combined total distance of 7714km journey in the 7 away matches they will play in the first half of the season in the Ghana Premier League.
