Ghana senior national team captain, Asamoah Gyan, has disclosed that the Turkish league is equally tough as any other league in the world.
The 33-year old joined Kayserispor from Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG in the summer of 2017 on a two-year deal.
After joining Kayserispor, a section of the public argued about the competitiveness of the Turkish league, but speaking in an interview on Kessben FM/TV’s flagship weekday sports program, Midfield Action, the ace forward revealed that the Turkish league might “seem easy from afar, but its competitiveness is seen only when closer”
He said, “the Turkish league plays with a more defensive formation and breaks on counter attacks. When you are far, it might seem to be easy but when you get closer, you will realize that the league is very difficult”
“People will argue, that because the league is in Turkey is not as competitive as the English premier league or the Spanish league but it will be better understood when you are in or closer”
Asamoah Gyan, on Sunday came from the bench on the 55th minute to score two brilliant goals to overturn a 1:0 lead by Kasimpasa.
Asamoah Gyan is hoping to make it into the Black Stars squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in June.
