Stop Abusing Technology – Juaben MP

The Honorable member of parliament for Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti Region and a member of the ECOWAS parliament Ama Pomaa Boateng appeals to the youth in her constituency to desist and refrain from the abuse of technology.

She admonished the youth to use the internet, social media, etc, for the purpose with which they were invented. The introduction of technology was to help in communication and enhance learning but the youth of today are using it negatively in cyber crime, watching pornographic movies, among others. She urged the youth of school going age to take absolute advantage of the introduction of the free SHS and major government policies that will be rolled fully this year.

The municipal police commander ASP Emmanuel Howu Broni adviced parents to take good care of their wards and be responsible parents who exhibits good parenting because the rate at which the youth is engaging in crime is worrying. He said parents whose children below 12 years commits a crime, their parents will be arrested and prosecuted but if the children are above 14 years, they shall be arrested and face the law themselves. He admonished the youth to desist from alcohol intake and abuse of Tramazol which when taken into the body excessively compels you to misbehave.

At the end of year get together organised by the member of parliament for Juaben Constituency Hon Ama Pomaa Boateng for over one thousand youth and children of Juaben saw the attendance of some chiefs, local council of churches, disability group, cocoa farmers association, rice farmers association, the old age group, among others.
The MP presented cheques of one thousand cedis each to Mother smith International school, rice farmers association, the old age association, disabled group. She also presented two sets of computers with a printer to the municipal police command and a brand new knapsack sprayer to the cocoa farmers. Each of these groups were given two boxes of shoes in addition. The MP again gave two hundred cedis each to the 24 areas in her town who participated in their Christmas gala organised by someone else in her absence. Aside the 200 cedis each given to the areas, each team received a box of shoes containing 30 pairs each. The referee also received 100 dollars but the Honorable member of parliament expressed her displeasure about the stabbing of one person to death during the just ended Christmas gala competition and appealed to the leadership to see to the smooth organisation of the competition.

The children enjoyed themselves and danced to good hilife music with the member of parliament. All the groups and individuals showered praises and blessings unto the MP and prayed for long life, good health and best of travelling mercies for her. She promised the people of Juaben constituency that they will see their portion and what is due them in development of both infrastructure and human resource.
