On Saturday 15th August 2018, I joined the greater Accra Caucus of student representative council(SRC) presidents together with cooperate Ghana and some senior officers in the ruling government including Hon. Mohammed Adjei Sowah(Mayor of Accra) and Hon. Moses Abor(Greater Accra Youth Organizer of the NPP) to undertake a clean up exercise in Adabraka, Accra._
The move formed part of efforts aimed at ensuring cleanliness in Accra. This gesture of good citizenship by such group in our student body indeed finds firm expression in the national vision of waging a good fight against filth in our communities and making the capital, the cleanest city in Africa by 2020 as opined by His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
*I fervently thank and congratulate the SRC caucus of the Greater Accra Region for taking such a bold and diligent step in their quest to meaningfully give back to the society and hope that this act will be a wake up call to the youth of Ghana and find emulation in other areas of our student front.*
*I wish to use this opportunity to reinforce my commitment to ensure that my leadership as president of the National Union of Ghana Students(NUGS) will work closely with the students of Ghana and the media to continue to embark on educational campaigns on good sanitation practices and as well engage in physical clean up exercises to help police the menace of indiscriminate disposal of waste in our communities.*
Once again God bless the Greater Accra caucus of SRC presidents.
Student leadership must awaken again.
