Statement: Be Patient, As Government Works To Recruit All Nurses And Midwives – NPP UER Youth Organiser

The NPP Upper East Regional Youth Wing call on all unemployed nurses and midwives in the region to remain calm as the NPP government works on recruiting all.

We understand and share with you all at these moments, but, you should be assured that the NPP government led by H.E Akufo Addo has not relegated you all in this profession to the backyard.

It must be noted that, the President believes strongly in the merits of the nursing profession and the significant roles it plays to the collective development of our country. Of which indeed, he has exhibited that by restoring the nursing training allowance even at the earliest period of his administration.

It is an undenable fact that, the NPP inherited all forms of debts and messes created by the Mahama led NDC administration in the health sector. But, even in all these challenges, more than 18,000 of nurses and midwives have been employed by this government in our short period in power.

The nursing and midwifery profession is noble and very dear to the heart of the President. As a Youth wing, we appreciate the measures the President is putting up through the health ministry to recruit majority of the unemployed nurses even under the strict conditionalities of the IMF. Another challenging situation the incompetent Mahama and the NDC created for the current government.

So, we wish to assure our brothers and sisters who are unemployed graduates under this noble profession to exercise patience as the NPP government seeks to generate employment for all our teaming youth in the region and the country at large.

If the President in less than two(2) years, has employed about 100,000 under NABco, 19,000 and more at GES, over 20,000 people under planting for food and jobs,15,000 people under Community Protection, 3,000 Arabic Instructors, 13,000 Agric Extension Officers and over 30,000 Supervisors and Field Officers with Forestry Commission; be assured that your noble profession would not be left out.
