Refs appointment committee chairman jabs Hearts of Oak, says they will appoint Bennett from South Africa if they want a foreign referee for Kotoko vs Hearts

Chairman of Ghana premier league referees appointment committee Eddie Doku has taken a swipe at Accra Hearts of Oak stating his outfit is ready to appoint a foreign Referee Daniel Bennett to officiate the final of the MTN FA cup between Kotoko and Hearts.

A section of the Accra Hearts of oak supporters had apparently been calling for a foreign referee to handle the final game which is scheduled to take place at the Tamale Sports Stadium on 29th October 2017.

Following the calls by the fans of the Accra based football club though it’s yet to be expressed through the official position of the club, the referees appointment committee chairman Doku has shot a strong reply suggesting the calls by these fans are completely needless.

The emergency committee member of the Ghana football Association in an interview with Kumasi based radio station Otec FM, with sarcasm said if they ( Heart ) are calling for a foreign referee to officiate the game against their bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko, then they will go for Referee Bennett who recently poorly officiated a World cup qualifier game between Uganda and Ghana.

“If Hearts are calling for a foreign referee for the FA CUP final then we will go for referee Bennett from South Africa.” Said Eddie Doku.
