Queen mothers in Eastern Region call on First Lady

Members of the Eastern Regional Queen Mothers association today paid a courtesy call on H.E. Rebecca Akufo-Addo at her office to congratulate her on her new role as the First Lady of Ghana and also to pledge their support for her and the President in all their engagements and undertakings to ensure a successful presidency for H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo.

The visiting Queen Mothers through their President, Nana Adutwumwaa Dokua of Kyebi, expressed their gratitude to the First Lady for her unwavering support to her husband throughout his presidential bid which eventually led to his victory in 2016. The Queen Mothers, as a sign of their gratitude, presented the First Lady with gifts including pieces of cloth, beads and some artifacts.

The First Lady in addressing the Queen Mothers expressed her gratitude for their visit and gifts and assured the Queen Mothers that she will ensure that all the promises made by her and the president during the campaign will be fulfilled to the benefit of all Ghanaians.

She also assured them of her readiness to work with them to help improve the lives of their people and Ghanaians in general.

She further urged the Queen Mothers to not waver in their support for the government and also encourage active participation in their various communities to ensure the government succeed.

The Chieftaincy and Culture Minister, Hon. Kofi Dzamesi, who also accompanied the Queen Mothers expressed his gratitude to them for their continual support for the NPP party and government.

He also reiterated that knowing the First Lady as an advocate of women empowerment, she would bring her influence to bear on leadership and decision making to ensure development concerns in their various communities are adequately addressed.
