Police Officer shot after attempting unauthorized entry into Kofi Boakye’s residence

A police constable suspected to be mentally ill was shot in the leg when he attempted entering the residence of the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, Kofi Boakye.

Constable Dennis Makagor, who was shot Monday evening at around half past six local time was before the incident, seen in a heat exchange of words with the security detail on duty at the Commander’s residence.

The respected Commander was not in the house at the time.

Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police, ASP Yusif Mohammed Tanko, said Makagor asked to see the Commander when he got to the facility.

He was denied access but tried to force his way through.

He is currently on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
