Police clash with Poly students at Education Ministry

Police have clashed with members of the Central Committee of the country’s 10 polytechnics at the Ministry of Education offices in Accra on Wednesday, July 2.

The students claim the “visit” was over the apparent disinterest by the Ministry to the issues leading to the strike declared by the Polytechnic Teachers’ Association of Ghana (POTAG) on May 15, this year.

According to the police, the action of the students was in violation of the Public Order Act.

The students, on the other hand, complain the police have turned down several requests tendered for escort.
