Oforikrom Constituency: NPP Delegates Pick Nomination Forms For Incumbent MP

 

Over 600 Delegates of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Oforikrom  Constituency in the Ashanti Region have thrown their weight behind the incumbent Member of Parliament Emmanuel K. Marfo as they throng the party’s office to pick nomination forms to contest the upcoming Parliamentary primaries on April 25.

 

According to the delegates, the gesture forms part of the true reflection of their level of confidence in the Member of Parliament and seek to reelect him the second time to continue the good works for the Oforikrom constituency.

Addressing the media, Isaiah Boamah the Polling Station Chairman at Kotei electoral area who led the delegates to pick up the forms said “We appreciate his good works hence we put up this effort to mobilized the nomination fee of 2,000 cedis and have also pre payment of the filing fee of 20,000 to prove our readiness to present our preferred candidate Hon. Emmanue K. Marfo for reelection, that is why  the delegates in the constituency decided to pick up the Nomination Forms and presented it to him.”

 

 

Supporters who trooped to the party office added their voices in an attempt to fully endorse Dr Marfo to run for a second term just as His Excellency Nana Addo also seeks for reelection for the next four years.

Mr Emmanuel Kwame Antwi, the NPP chairman for the Oforikrom who received the nomination and the filing fee and advise the delegates and party supporters to continue upholding the dignity of the party and ensure sanity and peace before, during and after the forthcoming primaries and the general elections.

He further refuted various rumors and allegations that the constituency party office has restricted some aspirants from picking forms to contest.

Chairman further advocates and appealed for unity and urged the Party to solidly rally behind the party and ensure massive turnout in the fourth coming general elections to make the Oforikrom a ministerial constituency by giving  the incumbent MP a ministerial position after delivering another massive votes for Nana Addo in 2020.

“ We still have a number forms available at the party office to whoever wants to contest the primaries so various rumours that the party has harbored the forms restricting other interested aspirants is a fallacy” Chairman added.
