NPP internal wragling: treasurer calls Fundraising website “illegal”

Tension is heightening again in the New Patriotic Party as the party’s Treasurer has described as “illegal” and alien a website created by some executives of the party to raise funds.

According to reports, several party members have already subscribed to the fundraising website called NPPCENTRE.ORG.

The website was reportedly created by General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong to generate revenue for the party’s campaign ahead of next year’s general elections.

But the Treasurer of the party, Kwabena Abankwah Yeboah has told Starr News that the project has not been approved by the National Executive Council and urged party supporters to disregard it.

“Nobody or committee can sign any contract to raise funds without going through the process of the party and especially in this case, the national executive committee and the national council they approve some of these things”.

Abankwah added: “I am not aware of any website contributing money…and I am not a signatory to any such account electronically that is receiving any money…that website is illegal because it is not known to the party”.
