No policeman was involved in Kumasi Abrepo highway accident – MTTD

The Ashanti regional commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) has denied speculations that a   policeman was involved in an accident which happened at the Kumasi Abrepo Highways

According to Superintendent Emmanuel Adu Boahene One person is confirmed dead and six injured in the accident.

The deceased a  fifty year old woman died at the spot when a Nissan mini bus with registration  number GN 5549-19  collided with a tipper  truck with registration and GE 4094- 16  after the Nissan bus had a break failure

The six wounded patients were sent to the County hospital at Abrepo for medical treatment.

Superintendent  Emmanuel Adu Boahen, disclosed that the driver of the mini bus is Albert Boateng 30 is a’ spare’ driver and the car was given to him by  one Atta Francis the main driver came in claiming was behind the steer when the incident happened but he was caught lying.

The two accused drivers are in Suame police station for investigation and prosecution.

He advised drivers to observe roads regulation and good maintenance of vehicle to avoid more accident.

When contacted, the medical superintendent of County Hospital,   Dr Kwame Antwi of county indicated three out the six patients were transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital due to their critical condition.
