The dying hostilities at Tafo in the Ashanti region appear to have been rekindled as hundreds of youth Tuesday morning besieged the Tafo palace to be given weapons to defend themselves.
According to the angry youth, their demand for weapons is to enable them fend off potential attacks by some members of the Zongo community, who they claim are threatening them.
The angry youth have warned the recent violence which erupted between the secular and Muslim youth in the area will be resurrected if the chiefs and elders do not sit up.
A cemetery-land dispute between the two factions resulted in the death of one and the destruction of several properties in the cosmopolitan vicinity.
A curfew was imposed with several security men dispatched to the area before calm was restored.
The police is yet to comment on the latest development.
