Miss Commonwealth Ghana Culture Beauty Pageant 1st Runner Up, for 2019, Ms. Portia Ahenkra Agyemang, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Honourable. Barbara Oteng- Gyasi, at the Tourism Ministry.
Miss. Portia Agyemang project is in the area of community sensitisation which aims amongst other things are in the sphere of promoting Tourism in Ghana, improving the poor sanitation in the country, Creating breast cancer awareness and invariably encouraging the teenage girls who are school drop-outs to go back to the class rooms to become responsible citizens for the nation.
The Hon. Barbara Gyasi who was apparently enthused about Miss Portia exploits congratulated her for attaining that onerous feat in Ghana.
She stressed that her outfit is committed to support any industry player who would aid her ministry in delivering on its mandate.
She further entreated Miss. Portia to collaborate with the National Youth Tourism Ambassador, Mr. Joseph Nii. Amartey, to imbibed in the Ghanaian youth on the domestic tourism promotion concept in Ghana.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture , Dr. Ziblim Iddi Barri, who was at the said meeting further entreated Miss Portia to continue to make Ghana proud and also be a role model to her peers.
On her part Miss. Portia Ahenkra expressed her gratitude to the Hon. Barbara Oteng- Gyasi and and her able Deputy Minister, Dr. Ziblim Iddi Barri for the warm courtesies extended to her with her team, at the MoTAC.
Meanwhile, Miss Commonwealth Ghana is Affiliated to Miss Commonwealth UK, which seeks to promote the gap between beauty and Culture on the international scene.
Whiles, the Ghana’s event which saw Miss Portia Ahenkra clinching the ultimate prize, took place in Ghana, at the Alisa Hotel, on the 7th of September, 2019.
Miss. Portia would also be representing Ghana on the international stage, on the Miss Multi National in India, in December, 2019.
