A middle-aged man has beheaded a 37 year old man and butchered another at Akwansrem in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.
The deceased has been identified as Philip Dome.
The suspect, whose name was given as Otabil, was said to have been angered by a conversation between the deceased’s brother Benjamin Dome and another person.
Otabil, Joy News gathered, accused the two of making noise and threatened to kill them if they did not stop disturbing him.
On Monday evening Otabil attacked Benjamin with cutlass but the latter escaped with deep cuts. The suspect then turned his attention on Philip who was sitting somewhere. He pounced on him and started slashing him with the cutlass.
Medical Superintendent of New Edubiase Government Hospital Dr. Manya Mensah who narrated what happened to Joy News said Philip Dome was rushed to the hospital dead.
“He cut the neck, the bone is also cut with severe lacerations of the muscles and the blood vessel, and blood was gushing, gushing, so before they came [to hospital] there was no life.”
He said the only thing connecting the hanging head to the body was a tiny flesh.
Benjamin Dome, who is receiving treatment for the severe cutlass wounds he sustained, told Joy News he wants the law to deal with the culprit.
