Police in the West Mamprusi District of the Northern Region are on a hunt for persons who tied a man to a shea tree and stoned him to death after he was reported to have gruesomely murdered his biological brother.
The incident happened at Zangu-Vuga, a farming community close to the district capital, Walewale.
The deceased, only identified as Naporo in his early 30s was said to have hacked his elder brother, Ibrahima with a machete to death in a raging controversy over a parcel of land.
After the incident, members of the community who were incensed over the dastardly act also mustered courage, arrested him and tied him to shea tree while some members were dispatched to Walewale to inform the police.
But before the security personnel could arrive at the scene, he was subjected to all forms of torture and subsequently lynched by the angry residents who abandoned him and fled.
Police indicate that they are currently investigating the matter and will surely apprehend persons behind his lynching for onward prosecution
