Kumasi Airport is not internationally recognized – Snr. Lecturer KNUST

A Senior Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and chairman of Intellectuals for National Development Ghana, Dr Petter Twumasi says the Kumasi Airport which is widely acclaimed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as international airport, is a pathetic fallacy since it is not included in the lists
Speaking at Kessben fm during the Saturday edition of the morning show “Amansan Ntie”, Petter Twumasi reacted to the circulating message claiming the Mahama led administration is the first to initiate a direct flight from the land of Tamale to an international airport hence making the Tamale airport meeting an international standard.

During the Acheampong regime in the 70s there was a direct flight from Tamale, the same way during Kuffour era there was a flight directly flying from Tamale beyond the borders of Ghana so the NDC claims attributing first flight to their time in office cannot be taken for serious, he added.

Moreover, Dr Twumasi expressed worry how he boasted of the Kumasi Airport believing it was an international airport
but was eventually disappointed when his luggage found it way at the Kenyan airport. The wrong destination was linked to his wrong address since the Kumasi Airport he had wished to transfer his luggage was nowhere to be located from the list of international airports, he stated.

With this regard, if the NDC still claims they have upgraded the Kumasi Airport to an international one is never true and the NDC cannot be trusted in anyway, he remarks .
