Kotoko draw 1-1 with Aduana Stars

Kotoko’s winless run in the 2016/17 Premier League was sadly extended to six matches on Wednesday when Aduana Stars held the Porcupines to a 1-1 draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on match day 13.

The visitors shot into the lead after 20 minutes through Sam Adams . Though Aduana Stars’ goal created some panic moments for Kotoko, there was momentary relief three minutes on when Stephen Badu handled Prince Acquah’s shot in the box.

Referee William Agbovi rightly whistled for a penalty kick which was painfully wasted by striker, Kwame Boateng in the 24th minute. The Porcupines undauntedly searched for the equaliser which didn’t come until the second half – just three minutes after the break.

Substitute, Abass Mohammed, who came on for Kwame Boateng sent home an excellent free kick, which saw goalie, Joseph Addo helpless and also cursing his stars for failing to prevent the goal.

The frantic search for the second goal and the possible match winner yielded no positive result. The draw – the third at home this season, leaves Kotoko at 5th position with 20 points.
