Kessben GM sworn in as new GIBA Boss

Mr.Andrew Danso Aninkora General manager for Kessben media has been sworn in as the new President for Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA).

The ceremony of the investiture of newly GIBA Executive Council took place today in Accra.
Addressing the occasion, new president for the Association Mr. Aninkora disclosed that, “he knows the work is not going to be easy but hope together with the new executive council will be able to deliver”

He added that,they will work tirelessly to broadening the membership base of the association and as the new council executives to steer the affairs of GIBA, they will help maintain the cordial relationship that exist previously between its stakeholders and member stations.

Notwithstanding, the association will help revive profitable gross for media owners so that they can benefit to pay their workers well.
According to Mr. Aninkora, since the world has been advanced to modern technology, modalities of training for member stations will also be their priority so that journalist can abreast themselves with the technical know-how.

Finally, he used the opportunity to express his gratitude to all those who have contributed in his media career especially Mr.Kwabena Kesse of Kessben group.

However, in the remarks of the out- going GIBA president, Mr.Kwasi Agyemang he said is a sad and a happy day for him as such since he has been with the council for a decade now for been a council member,vice president at a point in time then president.

He also outlined some of his achievement during his tenure of office which includes capacity building among member stations, How to advertised Food and drugs, signing o beneficial MOUs on behalf of the association, supporting it members in most legal cases among many others.

He called on all members to support the new executive council like they did for him by offering the needed services.

In his conclusion,he said we have to sanitise the air waves and have good policy standards so that issues like showing of pornography will not find it way into the Ghanaian media.

Nana Kwasi Gyan Apenteng chairman for National Media Commission and Mrs. Stella Agyapong of Kencity media and past Executive member were all there to graced the occasion.
