‘A nation which does not honour her heroes is not worth dying for.’ There is no denying the fact that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah remains one of the greatest legends this country of ours has ever produced.
His contribution towards our political independence as a country can never be under estimated.
His zeal, passion and will to see a self independent Ghana and Africa goes into the annals of our history as a great compatriot who together with his colleagues such as the Doyen Of Ghana’s politics J.B. Dankwa, Paa Grant and several others selflessly stood to fight the ‘cunning’ British Colonial powers to gain Ghana its Political Independence.
It is for this reason why I salute our president for going beyond just executive fiat and putting measures in place to get a legal backing for the remembrance of this great man.
On this day, I join many Ghanaians both home and abroad and the whole of Africa to wish the good people of Ghana Happy Nkrumah Memorial Day.
Whiles wishing people happy holiday, I use this opportunity to plead with celebrants to be moderate in all their dealings and to know that Ghana and the world need us all alive.
May Allah bless us all.
