Nana Yaw Berima a renowned Journalist with the Daily Graphic News paper a subsidiary of the graphic communications group in Kumasi has been enstooled as a sub chief of Mampong Traditional Council. Mamponghene Asokwahene is a sub chief in the traditional council who sees the administration of the essembles or drums in the palace. Nana Yaw Berima has been in charge of the drums for about 30 years now because of his loyal service to the silver stool paramountcy Daasebre Osei Bonsu II has promoted him with a palanquin and sworn – in before all the sub – chiefs. His duties as Asokwahene in the traditional council is to make sure all the essembles or drums in the palace are in order. Nananom in the Mampong traditional council adviced him to continue with his loyal and hardworking service to the silver stool. He was charged to use the drums and his skills display to the tune of the drums to bring peace and unity to the palace.

He also made it clear that Nana Yaw Berima will continue to be his Public Relations Officer together with his duties as a chief. Nana Mamponghene pledged his support for him.
The Daily Graphic Journalist Nana Yaw Berima in an interview with Kessben media reporter Hon Addai Brobbey expressed appreciation to Mamponghene for his promotion, he explained his duties as Asokwahene and later called for support from his family members and promised to serve the silver stool with humility.
