The Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Shani Cooper, on Monday called on the registrar of the Scholarship Secretariat, Mr Kingsley Agyemang and the staff at the Secretariat. According to her, the Israeli Government having followed keenly the tremendous transformation taking place under the Akufo-Addo led government especially in terms of education, her country is willing to offer scholarships to Ghanaians to study in Technion University in Israel to augment the efforts of the government.
Technion Institute of Technology is consistently ranked among the world’s top science and technology research universities.
She emphasised that she was particularly happy with the recently introduced Decentralisation Scheme by the Scholarships Secretariat, which has allowed for inclusiveness and openness in the award of scholarships.
Mr Kingsley Agyemang assured her of the Akufo-Addo’s government desire to continue to deepen the already existing bilateral relationship between Ghana and Israel especially in education.
