Film and Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) has elected veteran and controversial movie actor Augustine Abbey known in showbiz as IDICOCO.
The election which saw him elected as president of FIPAG was held at the Royal Lamerta hotel in Kumasi on 30th September 2016.
According to Idicoco, he was privileged to be crown as the President but it’s better for him, the executives and stakeholders to unite as a team. He congratulated the outgoing executives for their hard working despites the electricity crises and challenges of the smaller market at that time which the executives managed to maintain and sustain the market.
He promised to develop, rebrand the industry, promote anti-piracy operations, create awareness and expand markets for the other Regions to benefit. All hands should be on deck to make this dream a reality.
He also urged the executives to form a communication team to which will be headed by their Public relations Officer.
“We criticizes leaders when they are given power to carry out duties and tag them incompetent, it’s not easy to be elected as a President, but he thinks all heads are better than one, unity is a key success”.
Idicoco was a staunch movie actor in the early 90’s in Ghana when he featured in many scenes for several movies like “Matters of the heart, better love and many more.
