The Presidential Candidate of the People’s National Convention, Hassan Ayariga has promised to “wow” Ghanaians at the second Institute of Economic Affairs Presidential Debate.

According to Mr Ayariga, he will have the benefit of reference material and some gadgets which will put him in poll position.

The second and final of the Institute of Economic Affairs Presidential Debates comes off today at the banquet hall of the State House.

The debate, which was orginally scheduled for Tuesday November 20, was rescheduled to observe the five day mourning period instituted after the death of for former Vice President, Aliu Mahama.

President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Michael Abu Sakara of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and Mr Hassan Ayariga of the People’s National Congress (PNC) are expected to participate in the debate.

The IEA has assured all stakeholders that all is set for the event which will, among others, center on topics such as how the candidates intend to deal with corruption if they are elected into office.

Hassan Ayariga was criticized for what some described as poor performance at the first IEA Debate which took place in Tamale. His participation was underthreat after he announced on November 19 that he was declining the invitation due to ill health and also in recognition of the five day mourning period for Alhaji Aliu Mahama

Mr. Ayariga, in an interview with Citi News however said, though he is unwell he will do his best this time around.

“Last time it was only Hassan Ayariga who went into the debatet without a manifesto; his party would admit, without notes, without Ipad and without and foreign document. I am also going there with my notes.”

“I am well prepared, even though sick, i am promising Ghanaians that it will be a wonderful day for Hassan Ayariga and the PNC and they can count on me.”
