I established Lynx with a loan my mother took – Richie Mensah

CEO of Lynx entertainment, Richie Mensah, has revealed that even though things were hard at the time of starting Lynx entertainment, he had the help of his teacher mother who supported him with a loan.
According to Richie Mensah, even though it was challenging in the beginning because he didn’t have enough money to start, the passion he had for music got him pushing on.

“Money was always hard to come by, I remember converting my room into a studio and sleeping in my brother’s room because he had traveled to school, I had a computer that took 80 minutes to boot, an old school computer mic which I was managing because I am short, gradually was using it to do demos and everything and as time went on it was getting better”
“My mother is a teacher so she went for a loan for us to spec the studio, even with that we couldn’t afford a studio mic so we bought a stage mic just to keep us going which later I was paying monthly.”

Hitherto reports that artists have issues with their parents because of their decision to do music, Richie, however, explained that his mother was from day one in agreement with him doing music and had no problem with it.

He said “I was doing science so people thought I was going to do computer science or Engineering but I told my mother I wanted to do music and she agreed to it, she told me she always had a dream of entering into entertainment but her parents did not allow her, so if I have the dream, she will see to support me anyhow she can and that was how come she went in for the loan, if it hadn’t been for that I wouldn’t have been sitting here.”

Richie Mensah is arguably the most successful artist manager in Ghana in the years under review managing artist like OJ Blaq, Eazzy, Irene Logan, Asem, Ziggy, D3, Mzvee, Kuame Eugene, Kidi and Dope Nation but according to him, working as an artist manager has brought him more fulfillment than when he was an artist.

Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), has set June 28, 2019, as the date for its national elections. Richie Mensah who is vying for MUSIGA vice president is currently on a national campaign tour.
