Music newcomer, Kweku Smoke known in real life as Paul Amankwaa has shockingly revealed that he doesn’t drink nor smoke in a recent interview on Kessben TV. The ‘Yedin’ hitmaker, who was talking to Nana Osei Kesse, aka Mr Bonez on the ‘Music Plus’ Show stated that his stage name was a nickname he had way back in Benkum Senior High School.
He attributed the success of his first single, ‘Yedin’ to 2019 BET Hip Hop Award winner, Sarkodie. On how he got Sarkodie on his first hit song, Kweku Smoke explained that his friend, Nana Boroo (musician) did the ‘magic’ by introducing him to Sarkodie one Sunday afternoon in Accra.
Kweku Smoke admitted throughout the interview that he sees himself as one of the few lucky upcoming musicians as he has been able to get connections to some big shots in the Ghanaian music industry including Shatta Wale without any kind of hustle.
The KNUST alumni stated that he hopes to be a big brand in the music industry in the nearest possible future.
