Hunter in police grips for shooting friend

POLICE   at Effiduase in the Ashanti region has arrested one Michael Mensah alias Mampong for allegedly shooting a friend at Banko, a farming community in Sekyere East District of Ashanti

The suspect, a mason has been custody assisting the police in investigations whilst body of the deceased, Asoma, (38) has been deposited at the Juaben government hospital mortuary pending autopsy

An eyewitness who spoke to Kessben FM indicated that, Michael Mensah contacted the deceased for masonry work which they arranged to start it the subsequent day the incident happened. And that same Wednesday night these friends went to the forest for hunting.

The suspect according to the report, returned home alone without the deceased thinking that he had taken the lead.

On reaching home, he realized that he was nowhere to be found and therefore organized a search party in the night.

The following morning he went to the house of the deceased to check if he had returned after the hunt for some hours he thought Asoma had gone home too, since his searched by Michael prove futile.

 

He quickly realized that, his friend was still in the bush, the suspect went to the forest and found him in pool of blood, report was made to the Banko police who followed to the scene and retrieved the body.

 

Some of the Residents who spoke to Kessben FM expressed the believe that the deceased might have mistakenly shot himself since he is new in hunting
