Gov’t to deal with ‘unruly’ Vigilante groups – Bryan Acheampong

“We are guided by laws in this country and anyone that fouls the law is supposed to be dealt by the law…” Bryan Acheampong Minister of state designate and Member of Parliament for Abetifi has revealed.

 

Delta Force, a group believed to be affiliated to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), last Friday beseiged the  premises of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and  assaulted the Regional security coordinator appointee,George Agyei.

 

Bryan Acheampong, stated that government will take neccesary measures to monitor the activities of vigilante groups in the country.
Mr Acheampong who’s topmost priority is to see the safety and security of the citizenry indicated that in as much as he supports to protect the people, he’ll need much information on these groups.
“I’m in much support to protect the people. I need to get more information on these vigilante groups. We are guided by laws in this country and anyone that fouls the law is supposed to be dealt by the law…”

He said, he will perform in-depth investigations into the formation of the respective groups and make them aware of the supremacy of rule of law in the country backed by the constitution of the land.

Activities of vigilante groups largely linked to the NDC and NPP continue to raise concerns in the country.These groups are the Azorka Boys of the NDC and Invincible Forces the NPP swing to action after their party is voted into power.
