Atuabo Gas processing plant due to some routine maintenance is to be shut down by the Ghana Gas Company Limited. This sudden shut down is to help carry out some works on the processing facility in the Western Region. The shut down is slated to commence on Wednesday, August 31st.
Alfred Ogbamey, the Communications Director of the company tells the media this intervention forms part of the insurance package covering the Gas processing plant.
How serious this shut down would affect power supply has not yet been ascertained by the management because Volta River Authority has imported a large volume of crude oil to deal with any sudden shortage to ensure the consistent supply of power, he said.
