The vice president of the Ghana football association George Afriyie has expressed thoughts of appreciation to his boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi following the former’s latest appointment on the CAF organizing
committee for four years.
George Afriyie in a message after his appointment revealed his Boss, the president of Ghana football Association and vice president of CAF actually nominated him to have been appointed on the committee.
“New leadership of CAF has offered me the opportunity to serve on the Continent Flagship Program, The Organizing Committee for Africa Cup of
Nations for a period of 4 years. Thank you President Nyantakyi for the Nomination” Said George Afriyie.
There have been reports in the local media in Ghana suggesting there is a rift between the two apparently but with the recent there might be a likelihood of resolution.
Nyantakyi a fortnight ago declared his intentions not to contest for the 2019 GFA election. Asked about the candidate he will be pushing his weight for, the FIFA executive council member decline to disclose.
However his Vice Afriyie has announced he will be contesting for the 2019 Ghana football Association’s presidential elections.
