The Ashanti regional health directorate has yesterday organised a community health education and launch of world Glaucoma week at Beposo in the manpong municipality in Ashanti region.
This was to earmark the week long celebration and give recognition to the less communicated glaucoma diseases especially within the various rural communities which are mostly prone to glaucoma infections.
To climax the celebration, eye screening and free health consultation was provided by Ghana health services to the residents of Beposo and it’s vicinities.
Speaking to Randy Jay Abubakar, Dr Fred Adomako Boateng the Deputy Director Critical Care explains that glaucoma diseases are more often has no signs of infection hence it’s sudden damage of human eye.
He finally adviced the General public to the develop the habit of frequent health check up to avoid being infected with glaucoma diseases.
