Mr. Akwasi Awuah Ababio the Director of Diasporan Affairs at the Office of the President with his wife Mrs. Phyllis Ababio has donated hospital equipments to Mampong government hospital.
Mampong government hospital is one of the biggest hospital in the Ashanti Region. The hospital serves as a referral to about four(4) districts namely Nsuta, Ejura, Atebubu and Kwame Danso. The hospital lacks a lot of facilities in their services. Mr Awuah said the hospital was built by his brother former Head of State Late Akwasi Amankwa Afrifa and if he is now with the Presidency he has to do all his possible best to help the hospital to serve the good people of Mampong. He said that the equipment are more basically operation tools nurses use on daily basis.
He advice the hospital staff to take very good care of the items.
Hon. Thomas Appiah Kubi MCE of Mampong Municipal who accompanied Mr Ababio during the presentation said he is doing everything possible to get better things for the hospital to serve the good people of Mampong. “This will not be the last, they are expecting more from other citizens from Mampong” He said. Nana Boakye Yiadom Atonsa Gyaasehene of Mampong Traditional council on behalf of Mamponghene Daasebre Osei Bonus expressed appreciation to Mr Awuah Ababio and his wife Mrs Phyllis Ababio for their kind donation.
Gyaasehene advised the hospital staff who are going to use the items to take good care of it.
Medical superintendent of the hospital Mr Kwadwo Nyarko on behalf of the hospital expressed appreciation to Mr and Mrs Ababio for the donation and pledged that they are going to use the items to benefit the people of Mampong and it’s environs.
Mr. Akwasi Awuah Ababio was appointed by President Akuffo Addo in February 2017 as the Director of the Diaspora Relations at the Office of the President and is responsible for overseeing the overall formulation and implementation of Ghana Diaspora Engagement Policy.
