Evangelist Abraham Philip Akpor kojo Kenya, whose showbiz name is “Lord Kenya” has described the late Daasebre Gyemena as a good song writer and composer.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben Fm Entertainment show moderated by “D J Roar”, Kenya expressed his deep condolence to Daasebre Dwamena’s family over the sudden death which occurred on 29th July, at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
According to Kenya, he did a collaboration with Daasebre’s on his hit song “KOKOOKO” within 18 minutes at the studios in 1999 which had a massive support across the country and helped him to gain many shows as well.
Taking listeners down memory lane, Kenya recalled “I got a call from Daasebre Dwamena and his music Producer Slip Records that they needed me at the studio’s to do Rap on his song ”KOKOOKO”, I was amazed because Daasebre had already composed everything”.
“I contacted him earlier this year, he was overwhelmed for me been a pastor and he promised to visit me at church when he comes to Kumasi”
Lord Kenya appealed to the public to learn from the prominent Artist who helped to revive Ghana’s Hiplife genre and also, appealed to musicians to give their lives to Christ because we will all pass on one day like Daasebre.
