Management committee chairman of Ghana’s CHAN team Edddy Doku has confirmed the Black Stars B’s remuneration was slashed to $3000 contrary to reports suggesting it had been reduced to $1500.
The team’s management committee chairman speaking on Kessben TV explained the sports ministry in collaboration with the football association have scrapped the usual winning bonus system after winning of games by introducing a qualification bonus of $3000 each to every member of the team.
“I was surprised to see a graphic sports report suggesting the bonus has been slashed to $1500. Per the what is documented and what i have chanced upon it’s from $5000 to $3000” Said Eddy Doku.
“Unlike what has been done in the past, it’s no more a winning bonus. It’s now a qualification bonus and after they qualify, each member of the team is going to be richer by $3000” He added.
The Ghana CHAN team will be seeking qualification to Kenya 2018 when they host Burkina Faso on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium after 2-2 stalemate with Burkina Faso last week in Wagadougu.
